When I asked my 4yr. old how yoga felt in her body she replied “Mommy, it feels like my soul is dancing.”
With that simple yet, profound statement, my mind begin to wonder- how often do we allow our soul dance, how often do we simply allow the happiness, the gratitude, the joy and wonder of life to flow from our soul?
Happiness is inside of you, it always has been. Happiness is the essence of who your are. Many times we over look happiness, we allow thoughts of the past, thoughts of the future, thoughts of the “should haves”, “could haves” and “what might have beens” to smother our happiness- in essence we allow our dance to end.
If you are finding that your soul isn’t dancing today, take a few smooth, deep, equal breaths and begin to allow gratitude to find its way in. Instead of focusing on what you don’t have, what has slipped away or what may or may not happen in the future- focus on what you do have, be thankful for the air you breathe, the water you drink, the food you eat, the warmth of the sun and the coolness of the rain. Be thankful that every breath is a new beginning. Be thankful for the present moment. Find daily gratitude in ALL things, allow the happiness to flow deep into the core of your being. Happiness is our true nature- our very source of being. When we expand our awareness within, finding active gratitude, we discover that there is no limit to our happiness.
Allow your soul to dance again.
